Election Day 2022

Voters lined up at Scott Hall at the Johnson County Fairgrounds Tuesday. 

Johnson County Clerk's office report shows voter turnout was 39% with 24,173 voting on Election Day, 3,644 absentees and 17,572 early voters—45,389 total. Of the straight party voters there were 17,240 Republican, 5,183 Democrat and 17 Libertarian. 

Here are the results of the midterm election in Johnson County. 

United States Senator

Winner: Republican Todd Young

Young won re-election and will serve a six year term. He received 65% of the votes in Johnson County.

Secretary of State

Winner: Republican Diego Morales

Morales was elected as Secretary of State replacing Holli Sullivan. He received 58% of the votes in Johnson County.

Auditor of State

Winner: Republican Tera K. Klutz

She received 68% of the votes in Johnson County.

Treasurer of State

Winner: Republican Daniel Elliott

He received 70% of the votes in Johnson County.

U.S. Rep District 6

Winner: Republican Greg Pence

Pence won re-election and will serve for another two years. He received 69% of the votes in Johnson County.

State Senator District 41

Winner: Republican Greg Walker

He received 72% of the votes in Johnson County.

State Rep District 47

Winner: Republican Robb Greene

Greene ran unopposed. He received 11,888 votes in Johnson County

State Rep District 57

Winner: Republican Craig Haggard

Haggard ran unopposed. He received 6,409 votes in Johnson County.

State Rep District 58

Winner: Republican Michelle Davis

Davis ran unopposed. She received 12,112 votes in Johnson County.

State Rep District 60

Winner: Republican Peggy Mayfield

Mayfield won re-election and will be serving for another two years. She received 72% of the votes in Johnson County.

Prosecuting Attorney 8th Circuit

Winner: Republican Lance Hammer

Hammer ran unopposed. He received 34,248 votes in Johnson County.

Circuit Court Clerk

Winner: Republican Trena McLaughlin

McLaughlin ran unopposed. She received 34,320 votes in Johnson County.

County Auditor

Winner: Republican Elizabeth Ann Alvey

Alvey ran unopposed. She received 34,259 votes in Johnson County.

County Recorder

Winner: Republican Teresa K. Petro

Petro ran unopposed. She received 34,343 votes in Johnson County.

County Sheriff

Winner: Republican Duane E. Burgess

Burgess ran unopposed. He received 35,113 votes in Johnson County.

County Assessor

Winner: Republican Mike Watkins

Watkins ran unopposed. He received 34,437 of the votes in Johnson County.

County Commissioner District 2

Winner: Republican Kevin M. Walls

Walls ran unopposed. He received 34,239 of the votes in Johnson County.

County Council District 1

Winner: Republican Pamela J. Burton

Burton ran unopposed. She received 10,558 of the votes in Johnson County.

County Council District 2

Winner: Republican Charlotte Sullivan

Sullivan ran unopposed. She received 6,614 of the votes in Johnson County.

County Council District 3

Winner: Republican Jon Myers

Myers ran unopposed. He received 7,294 of the votes in Johnson County.

County Council District 4

Winner: Republican John Mallers

Mallers ran unopposed. He received 9,658 of the votes in Johnson County.

Franklin Union Needham Township Trustee

Winner: Republican Lydia J. Wales

Wales won unopposed. She received 6,432 of the votes in Johnson County.

Franklin Union Needham Township Board

Winners: Republican Jeannie Barnett, Republican Tara Payne and Republican Dawn Barr

Barnett won 70% of the vote, Payne won 71% and Barr won 72%.
